A very good introduction to Torrontes

A very good introduction to Torrontes

We recently tried this esoteric wine from an esoteric region, and the end result is a wine that is made for warm weather.

This is a pretty interesting blend that really seems to work, particularly with this vintage. Torrontes is Argentina's white grape of notoriety and when given a dose of Riesling it really takes on an extra dimension to its character. The high elevation Salta region of north west Argentina is renowned for Torrontes and it appears that the folks at Amalaya have figured out that the two grapes taken together really brings out a synergy that is way greater than the sum of the parts. Here you get an alluring floral aromatic profile with a nice combo of tropical and stone fruit flavors riding on a vein of under pinning acidity that gives it vibrancy and freshness.

Juicy and out right delicious, this is exotic with all the positive attributes you want in a refreshing, fruity white wine. The Amalaya Torrontes Riesling 2015 works on its own, but it screams for lighter fare and any form of Asian food would work in a pinch. We are offering this delectable Argentine white blend for $9.99 which makes it an outstanding value. At the just recently at the Decanter World Wine Awards this received a Gold Medal which helps add a little gravitas to the whole package. For under $10 this is pretty hard to beat. Excellent juice at a great price makes this a winner.
