Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Wine rating (number 85) and some serious pedigree

Hevre Fabre was born in Bordeaux into a negociant family, and was one of the early French investors in Mendoza.

We have always been impressed with the wines of Fabre Montmayou, feeling they represent some of the better values coming from Argentina, many times having more structure and restraint than many of their counterparts, without losing of any of the appealing fruit that one expects from the Malbec. In a sense they have an Old World leaning while maintaining their New World fruit generosity. The big daddy of the Malbec lineup in the portfolio is the Gran Reserva Malbec.

Sourced from vines over 100 years in age, this has always been one of the best under $20 wine values from anywhere. When it comes to Argentine Malbec this is about as good as it gets for the money. The 2013 Fabre Montmayou Gran Reserva Malbec has a multi-faceted nose which flows into a palate that has a plush texture with ripe black fruit flavors and smooth tannins that leads to an impressive finish. A Wine Enthusiast Top 100 Wine for 2016 (wine # 85), this has a lot going on and we are offering it for $19.99 a bottle and $17.99 on a six bottle or more deal which makes it a terrific value.
