Another Beauty from Bruno Tait
Bruno Tait is one of the more successful Aussie producers we have had the pleasure of working with, coming on twenty years with his Ball Buster blend from the Barossa.
The Ball Buster is a Shiraz dominated blend with small amounts of Cabernet and Merlot, and has the longest running consecutive string of 90+ scores from The Wine Advocate, well over 10 vintages now. Working off the success of Ball Buster he started another project working exclusively with Rhone varietals, The Wild Ride, combining the Barossa stalwart, Shiraz, with Grenache and Mataro/Mourvedre.
It took Bruno a few years to work out the wrinkles, and now into its third vintage, the 2014 The Wild Ride showcases Bruno's magical touch, gushing with vibrant red berry fruit flavors nuanced with exotic spice notes and soft, supple tannins that makes this something that will keep you coming back for another glass. One thing we like about this wine is the vibrant fruit and acid balance. This is in comparison to Barossa wines from the recent past when Barossa reds were bigger in body and the fruit flavors of the wine tended towards cooked fruit. We are offering this engaging Barossa Rhone style blend for $19.99 a bottle and for a limited time $15.99 on a six bottle or more purchase. This offers the Barossa's generosity and fleshy texture packed with plenty of concentrated fruit that is countered nicely by its vibrancy and freshness. Those who are familiar with Bruno's style of winemaking are going to love this.
