The best selling Aussie red for its price
Since its first release in 1972, Wirra Wirra's Church Block has won over legions of fans for over delivering through the decades, giving it high marks on the price quality ratio rating.
It has always been a sure bet and great go to wine and perhaps the biggest accolade that this wine can receive is that in Australia it is the bestselling wine in its price range. That says a lot! We like Wirra Wirra Estate for many reasons, including that they have a trebuchet (a really big medieval catapult), mainly for shooting water melons and having fun, nothing more nefarious than that. But the main reason we like Wirra Wirra so much is that they consistently produce high quality wines at a fair price point and seem to be nice guys.
We were fortunate recently to try the just released 2013 Wirra Wirra Church Block, a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Shiraz and 13% Merlot, respectively, is another impressive effort and continues to over deliver for its modest asking price. For those who don’t follow these things, 2013 was a very good year for South Australian reds, and the quality of the vintage shows through in this wine. We are offering the 2013 Church Block for $16.99 a bottle and $15.29 on a six bottle or more deal. For those who are familiar with the Church Block you are going to love this one, for those not in the know, it is definitely something you need to check out.
