Absolutely delicious dessert wine from South Africa
South Africa has a long history with dessert wines, starting of course with the Constantia, produced in the 18th and 19th centuries, and its modern version, the Vin de Constance from Klein Constantia. More recently, we have seen excellent dessert wines come from newer producers like Mullineux and de Trafford. One producer that predates the modern era of South African wine is Fleur du Cap.

Meerlust Rubicon 2006
Meerlust is one of the most historic wine estates in the Cape. The estate was founded in 1693, which makes it over 300 years old. The modern era of wine making at the estate began in the early 1980’s with the first vintage of Meerlust Rubicon being produced in 1984.
